Open Strings Masterclass 2024 will be held from the 22nd to 31st July in Denmark. Open Strings offers an intensive week of cello and violin lessons, ensemble, workshops as well as a focus on the physical and mental aspects of playing.

The course is located in Ebeltoft where it is held in conjunction with the international festival Klassiske Koncerter in Djurs & Mols.

Basic information:

Dates: 22nd – 31st July

Price: 4.000 DKK incl. accommodation (2000 DKK deposit* to be paid before 1st June 2023, the rest is to be transferred before the start of the course)

Updated Application Deadline: 10th June 2024

Applications received after the deadline will be considered according to availability. A late application fee of 600 DKK will be added to the course fee.

Food

Food is not included in the price. There are grocery stores in Ebeltoft. As the hostel as closed their guest kitchen, there is only a small “tea kitchen” which is for minimal food preparation.

Basic timeline:

The course is structured where is a focus on solo masterclasses and rehearsing for string orchestra and cello ensemble in the first half of the course. The second part of the course students will be part of the festival environment at Klassiske Koncerter in Djurs & Mols with various concerts with the different ensembles.
